Chandan Allen is an Indian-born fashion designer and California resident who weaves a tapestry of global influences into every piece she creates. Her unique perspective bridges continents, cultures, and creative traditions.
Chandan’s story begins in India, where she was immersed in a rich heritage of art, textiles, and master craftsmanship. This early exposure to traditional techniques and vibrant creative expression became the cornerstone of her design philosophy, instilling in her a deep respect for artisanal skills and quality materials.
Her formal training at Central Saint Martin’s College of Fashion in London refined her natural talent and gave her the technical foundation to create signature pieces that blend timeless silhouettes with a modern sensibility. This education taught her to balance femininity with strength, tradition with innovation, and artistry with wearability.
OUR JOURNEY
In 2009, Chandan established CADPL (Chandan Allen Designs Pvt. Ltd.), her vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Mumbai, India. This decision to maintain complete control over production reflects her commitment to quality, transparency, and supporting the skilled artisans of her homeland. Every design conceived in California is lovingly brought to life by trusted craftspeople in Mumbai, ensuring that each piece meets her exacting standards.
The launch of Melange in 2019 at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California, marked a new chapter in luxury fashion retail. This flagship store embodies Chandan’s vision of accessible luxury – beautifully crafted pieces that celebrate both heritage and innovation.
OUR MISSION
For over sixteen years, Chandan has built a brand that spans four continents, from India to the UK, South Africa to the USA. As a successful entrepreneur and proud representative of Indian heritage, she exemplifies how traditional craftsmanship can thrive in the global marketplace.

As an entrepreneur and devoted mother of three daughters, she demonstrates that success can be achieved while maintaining strong family values and community connections. Her passion for ethical living is evident in her personal choices as a dedicated vegetarian and her commitment to animal welfare.
